
I don’t know about you, but the more I blog and search the internet, the more I keep reading about a detox for the body. I never ever really gave this method too much thought before, because I considered myself pretty “healthy”, especially over the past five years or so; that couldn’t be farther from the truth, and it took me almost thirty years of living to come to that realization that I still needed some tweaking in my life. My main problem was still the issues with my skin, and how I would constantly rely on anti-histamine pills, and steroid creams for the up-and-down tendencies of rashes, excessive itching and bumps.
The revelation finally hit me, and the answer to all my problems—from birth to present day—were all directly related to the “man-made products” I was continuing to put on, and in, my body. The more I came across some of the health-related documentaries on Netflix, I finally found the final piece to the puzzle: I needed a detox from all the processed gibberish that was lingering around inside! There hasn’t been a day that has gone by that I haven’t taken in something that was made in some type of lab or industrial factory, therefore, it’s definitely a time for a much needed change; nothing has worked to this point, so I’m open to just about any healthy detoxing approach that is out there.
Fast forward three weeks and change, and I’m happy to say that I haven’t had anything remotely processed in that time. The one thing I can say in this time so far is that I’m not feeling like my usual, upbeat self, but good thing I’ve read that these are normal symptoms. My body is trying its hardest to detox all the things that have been stored up for thirty years—that is actually not official until my birthday on Thursday lol—and it will take a LONNNNGGG time to detox completely. This is what I keep telling myself along this little journey, that I need to continue to be patient, because each passing day is one step closer to being where I’ve always envisioned myself being. So, I’m going to give this a try and see where I’m at by mid-April, and see how I feel by then, and let you know the outcome. According to Nancy Desjardins, here is a list of what might take place when detoxing, and I’m experiencing several of them myself:
- Extreme fatigue or its opposite, restlessness
- Cramps
- Headache (believed to be caused by build up of toxins in the blood)
- Skin eruptions
- Aches, pains
- Insomnia
- Nausea
- Sinus congestion
- Fever (usually low grade) and/or chills
- Frequent urination and/or urinary tract discharges
- Drop in blood pressure
- Cold or flu-like symptoms
- Strong emotions: anger, despair, sadness, fear, etc.
- Suppressed memories may arise
- Anxiety
- Mood swings
If you’re thinking of giving this kind of cleanse a try, there is definitely a light at the end of the tunnel, as Nancy explains:
Your energy level will soar when you cleanse. Remember that digestion requires huge amounts of energy. Since you’re eating only uncooked food (veggies), you’re eating the foods that require the least amount of energy to digest, but supply a great deal of energy. It will take a little time to start feeling better, but if you continue to eat healthy foods, drink plenty of water and work on the emotional, spiritual and mental aspects of your life, your reward will be vibrant health and boundless energy. Knowledge is power, and that power is in your hands!

I’m 42 And I Have This Same Problem. But Never Knew It Was Something ,I Might Be Eating. I’m On Medicaid So The DoctorS Don’t Do Or Tell Me Much. I Need To Try This!

So true! I have now removed many toxins from my diet and feel SO much better!
Water with lemon juice starts my day. The biggest benefits came from removing all wheat, alcohol, dairy, articial sweeteners, caffeine, fluoride, non-organic make-up, GMO soybean oils, and GMO corn. I feel and look awesome! Dropped 30 pounds, and now have clear skin, bags under eyes gone, and much higher energy. I took it in steps over seven months.
